Whilst The Civic is beautiful, it is old and takes a lot to keep it running, and that’s why we need your help.

We have a variety of ways in which you can get involved:-

• You can become a Friend of The Civic and receive benefits in return for a small membership subscription;
• For businesses and individuals able to enter into larger sponsorship arrangements, we have a range of options available
• If you have time on your hands and want to get involved by volunteering your time,
• If you want to make a one-off donation, or
• Just attend events and activities taking place at The Civic, all of which make a contribution to our costs.

We’re grateful for any and all support. The Civic will only survive and thrive with the help and support of local people and those further afield who hire our facilities, buy tickets, attend events and activities, make donations or volunteer with us.

All events and activities make a contribution to the upkeep of The Civic, but with significantly increasing costs, we always need to raise additional funds. You can help The Civic most directly by making a donation, either as a one-off gift or as a regular contribution.

Any donation, of whatever size, makes a difference!

Donations could provide:

• £10 – telephone/broadband for one week
• £15 – water for one week.
• £20 – gas for one day.
• £100 – a local marketing campaign to generate further funds.
• £150 – electricity for one week.

Although the success of The Civic is measured by the enjoyment of the local community in their ongoing and growing use of the venue, collaboration with businesses is essential to support this success.

Help the community build back one brick at a time.

An amazing opportunity has been created to allow our supporters to be recognised for their valuable commitment and receive a range of benefits in return. Our Supporter Wall will eventually be located prominently in the foyer of The Civic and will acknowledge supporters on individual bricks.

If you have been entertained or inspired at The Civic, this is a unique way to invest in its future.

The Civic is a wonderful building, but it takes a lot of looking after, and we can use all the help we can get to make it everything we want it to be. Whether you have the opportunity to make a regular time commitment or just help us on an ad hoc basis, we’d like to hear from you.

Running The Civic Hall will only be a success with the time, dedication and commitment of a team of volunteers working in a variety of roles. We are pleased that bookings are growing and as use increases, there will be more and more ways for you to lend a hand.

Volunteers can help with a wide range of activities, for example opening and closing of the building; room set-up and take-down including tables, chairs, staging and equipment; weekend cleaning and caretaking; answering queries from hirers during their event or activity; ushering/stewarding; general maintenance and repairs, painting and decorating; supporting the running of the café and bar – the list is endless.

Whether you have specific skills and experience, or just the enthusiasm to support your local community and our fabulous venue – we’d really like to hear from you.

As a volunteer at The Civic, we can guarantee you’ll have fun, be part of a great team, and get to enjoy a lively programme of events and activities firsthand. You will certainly meet new people and may even gain some new skills and training opportunities.
